Recently I was feeling really stuck. You know those increments of time when there is foreboding feeling and you wonder why you’re depressed. Creativity seems to be a thing of the past and nothing feels right straight ahead. That’s what I was dealing with for a few days. It felt terrible. Naturally I turned to prayer, ( though impatiently and stressed out ), again and again, but even that seemed empty. No answers or breakthrough.

Switching gears here to my sand picture…. my wife had given me this sand picture for Christmas four years ago. I love that thing. I had always wanted one and now I have one. It creates a different scape every time you turn it over as the various colors and weights of sand fall down around the bits of air inside the frame. But for several months now too much air was getting trapped inside this frame. I would remove it to the prescribed level with a tiny syringe, but it wasn’t working. Thus, the sand would get trapped and not fall anymore. Having lost my instructions for the sand picture I thought I knew all there is to know to do and I was thinking I may have to throw this thing away. But I love it. 

The web site for this product was not helping as it is all in German. The option for english wasn’t working and I nearly gave up. BUT, I found an email address in small print on the sight and gave that a try, figuring it probably won’t get me anywhere. To my surprise, though, the guy who created this picture emailed me back and told me exactly how to fix the problem. I followed his instructions and felt so happy when my cool art functioned the way it was supposed to again! I will have it for many more years.

As this resolution was unfolding, I had an impression from Holy Spirit that my going to my own Creator about my emotions…and waiting on Him for help, rather than being hasty and discouraged, would help me unravel this dark feeling I had been sitting in for days. I came to God as my Creator and asked what I can do to overcome this feeling. Within hours I had this funny notion that a certain pill I was taking was doing this to me. It was something to help focus and supposedly helps many out there with this. But I suddenly realized it was doing the opposite for me and I stopped taking it. Sure enough things cleared up. I even researched and found that for certain types of people this “natural remedy” works opposite than it does for most. I am that certain type!

Not only did I relearn to sit before the One Who made me and trust that He knows my instructions, but I also felt His assurance that He will help me where I thought this man-made remedy would. And I get to see cool landscapes every day again!
